June Wrap Up

Who can believe that half the month has already flown by?! I celebrated my birthday and read some great ( and not so great books). Listed below, in order from most to least favorite are the books I managed to read this month, along with links to the full length review! Blurbs about my top three are located below as well.

1. My Own Devices (Review) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I fell in love with the way Dessa writes, the way her words so effortlessly describe her feelings. I was super surprised that I could relate so much to a rapper, much less one I didn’t know. I wrote so many annotations in the margins, and highlighted so much that it looks like a journal right now. This was a 5 star, recommend to everyone memoir that I couldn’t put down.

2. The Sweetest Dark (Review) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was definitely geared toward a younger audience, but despite some more negative reviews, I loved the creativity of the author. She managed to take a different take on the boarding school, supernatural thing and I loved the book because of it. The historical setting, and slow burning romantic/self-sacrificial plot line was just the cherry on top.

3. The Munich Girl ( Review ) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably one of my favorite historical fiction novels yet, for the way that I learned more about Eva Braun in just the novel than I have in all of my history classes combined. The blend of fact and fiction was better than my favorite coffee!

4. The Book of Essie ( Review ) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5. The Poacher’s Daughter ( Review ) ⭐️⭐️⭐️

6. Awakening of the Summer ( Review ) ⭐️

Have you read any? Will you read any? And with which ratings/reviews do you agree?

Here’s to the other half of the year and a happy July! ♥️
